About Tournaments
A. Pre Entries:
Entry blanks are included in this Tournament Calendar and on WGANC web page. They should be filled in completely, entry fee attached, and received within the specified dates to address on Entry Form. Make check payable to WGANC covering your entry only. Returned checks are subject to all bank charges. No refund on cancellation within ten days of start of tournament for player who is accepted. Refused entrants will receive full refund.
B. Eligibility:
1. Entrants must have an established USGA Handicap Index based on a minimum of twenty scores at the time of entry. Unless otherwise specified (see entry blank), eligibility is limited to those players whose USGA Handicap Index converts to a maximum handicap of 40 at the course having the highest slope for that tournament.
A player must be female at birth to enter any WGANC Tournament.
An Entrant’s Age on the first day of the Tournament must meet Age Tournament requirements. Players whose birthdate qualifies them for either two (2) Tournaments or no Tournament will choose between the two (2) applicable Tournaments.
A player must be an amateur golfer.
A player must be 18 years of age or older and a dues paying member of a WGANC 18-Hole Women’s group.
C. No-Show/Late Cancellations:
A “No-Show” at any WGANC Major Tournament will result in a 2 year suspension from any WGANC Major Tournament. To avoid a “Late Cancellation” penalty of one year suspension from any Major WGANC Tournament, cancellation
must be received by the Director In Charge no later than 4 days before the start of play.
D. If the event is oversubscribed, selection will be done by a blind draw. An Alternate List will also be made by a blind draw. Teams drawn out of a team event will receive an exemption only by applying the following year with exactly the same team, if eligible. Teams that cancel will not receive the exemption for the following year. (This does not apply to the Team Challenge.)
E. In all partnership tournaments, partners will be accepted, refused and cancelled as twosomes or foursome. NO SUBSTITUTIONS!
F. USGA Rules govern all play except as modified by Supplemental Local Rules indicated in the Notice to Competitors.
G. Foul language or inappropriate behavior in tournament play or Open Days is cause for disqualification.
H. Scores from all Major Association Tournaments shall be posted as “T” (Tournament) scores.
