Junior Girls’ golf programs in Northern California have always been a high priority of WGANC, with thirty cents from each member’s dues going to support Junior Girls’ programs. We also receive valuable contributions from our member clubs annually.

At the suggestion of several club captains, at our Regional meetings this year, we revisited our aim for Junior Girl’s golf to reflect a more inclusive program for all girls within our communities. In the past, our policy has been to only support the daughters or granddaughters of a current WGANC member. The Board unanimously agreed with this suggestion and our policy now states:

“A Junior Girl is defined as any girl younger than 18 years of age from a Northern California community that a WGANC Woman’s group wishes to support. There are no WGANC dues and the GHIN fee will be waived through the end of the year in which the player turns 18. To be eligible to compete in Open Days, that are not oversubscribed, she will need to be both a WGANC member and an honorary or active member of the club’s 18-hole women’s group. She would then receive the WGANC Green Book. WGANC encourages clubs to support local groups of girls who may be interested in the game of golf.”
